This return policy is comprehensive so that you will feel comfortable with your purchase and understand our exemptions.
The #1 Rule Of Thinking About Returning Something: Call Us. Most people return things they don’t know how to use. We are here to inspire, guide, and educate you on making music. Please call us with any questions, and keep a positive mindset that the first choice you made was right (you simply might need more information before you think about being discouraged with your purchase). Remember: we were honest when you made your purchase, and we’ll be honest when you reach out for help.
All returns or exchanges of items that have been opened or show signs of use, with the exception of a defective exchange, are subject to an 18% restocking fee. Items with missing paperwork, components or parts, or that have excessively disrupted packaging, may have their return privileges revoked.
Any product that uses electricity OR connection cables to operate has a 15-day return privilege (let’s call these products electronics from now on). Examples are recording equipment, CD players, speakers, microphones, and keyboards.
Products that do not use electricity to operate have a 21-day return privilege.
Shipping charges and Layaway Payments are non-refundable. If an item is shipped free and is returned for a refund, the shipping charges will be deducted from the amount refunded. Special Orders and Gift Cards are not returnable and non-refundable. Gift Cards are like cash and cannot be reissued in the event of damage or loss.
All products are sold with their respective manufacturers warranties. Please note that warranty periods and services vary by manufacturer and product.
A copy of the original sales receipt must accompany warranty claims for defective items. Defective merchandise cannot be refunded, only exchanged for the same item. Some manufacturers allow us to replace defective items within 30 days in-store. Most do not, and nearly all will only allow a warranty repair for defects after 30 days and within the warranty period. Customers are typically responsible for shipping charges to the manufacturer after the 30-day period, and possibly for return shipping.
Any return requiring shipment back to us requires a written Return Authorization. Before you ship the item, please email us for instructions. Shipping charges are not refundable for voluntary returns. Defective or incorrect items will be replaced promptly and shipping will be provided for the return.
The following items may not be returned, only exchanged/repaired if defective and under warranty: recording interfaces, software, CD players, cables, ear buds or plugs, instruments and devices played or used at the mouth including recorders, kazoos, harmonicas, pitch pipes, reeds, headset microphones, CD’s and DVD’s, sheet music, and books. The following items may only be returned if they are unopened and/or unused, in their original factory-sealed packaging: microphones, strings, mouthpieces, headphones, tubes, raw speakers, studio furniture, drumsticks, drum heads, cleaning or polishing supplies, and turntable cartridges. Note that many of these items have a 15-day return privilege.
We specialize in clean and functional used instruments and equipment, and have for many years. All sales of used gear are final with no refunds available. Exchanges for full credit must be made within three business days from receipt. Exchanges can be made up to 7 days after receipt, but after the (3) day period a 10% Restocking Fee will be assessed on the exchange. No extended warranty is expressed or implied by this policy. Merchandise found to be defective within the 7-day exchange period would be repaired or exchanged at our discretion.
