Lessons at Brickhouse Music

Thank you for choosing the Brickhouse Music Lesson Academy for your lessons! We are excited to help you grow in your musical knowledge and we hope your lessons are an enriching experience!

Please read all information below regarding private lessons at Brickhouse Music. All of our Lesson Policies are designed to ensure we offer the best education for our students.

At the Brickhouse Music Lesson Academy, no matter what your experience level is, our Instructors will help you to learn your instrument from the inside out and to understand musical concepts. From young beginners to seasoned veterans, we help over 200 students per week learn new skills and expand their musical repertoire - all in a comfortable learning environment. These lessons are one-on-one so that student and instructor can easily build a trusting and open musical relationship.

Lessons are just $100 a month and students get a 30-minute lesson every week, 10% off books and accessories, discounts on gear, performance opportunities, and more!

Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced lessons are available in most of these instruments - when you sign up for lessons we will work with you to find the right teacher and schedule for you or your student!

Lessons for most instruments are available Monday through Thursday.

Lesson Policies

Payments

Tuition is due on the first day of each month, at the rate of $100 per month. Should the payment not be made by the eighth day of the month, there will be a $5 late fee assessed. We implement this payment policy with no exceptions. Tuition will be the same each month whether there are 3, 4 or 5 lessons in that month, regardless of student absences, cancellations or holidays - with the exception of the month of December. If the lesson payment is not made by the 3rd week of the month, the credit card on file will be automatically charged, including late fee. The only time that a monetary credit will be issued is if a teacher is absent and is not able to offer a make-up lesson.

Student Showcases

All students are encouraged to participate in our free Student Showcases which are held several times a year. These offer an opportunity for the students to prepare and perform a piece on their instrument. This is an important step in the student's musical journey, and enhances their individual learning experience. 

Visitors

The Brickhouse Music Academy requires that the student and the teacher be the only people in the room during the lesson (unless previously approved by the teacher). This is to ensure that the limited time our teachers get to spend with each student is used most effectively. Most of our lesson rooms are not large enough to accommodate an extra person. If a parent wishes, the last five minutes of each lesson may be allotted for discussion of progress, practice plans, and lesson materials.

At Home Practice

The teacher will discuss with the student what should be worked on for the next lesson.  We recommend practicing at least once a day for 15-30 minutes - if the student does practice, you will see improvement.  It is very apparent to the instructor when the student has not practiced.

Discontinuation of Lessons

When the student decides that he or she needs to discontinue lessons, we do require a two-week notice. This is to ensure that we will be able to fill the student's time slot without a lapse. The student must inform Brickhouse Music staff when discontinuing lessons. If the student cancels without paying for the two-week cancellation policy, Brickhouse Music has permission to charge the credit card on file.

Makeups

A make-up credit will only be offered if 24 hours notice is given to the Brickhouse Music staff at the front desk. If a make-up lesson can be scheduled (make-up lessons are not guaranteed as a teacher may not have time available), it must be done within a 4 week time period. There are no make-ups for same day cancellations. (Exceptions will be up to the discretion of the teacher, depending on each individual situation.) You may pre-schedule a make-up lesson before canceling.  

Student Discounts

Every student that is enrolled in private lessons will receive a 10% Brickhouse Music discount on all books and accessories. The student will receive a discount on any larger purchases as well, but it is not always 10%. We want your musical experience to be exciting, affordable, and well-supplied.
